9 months old

Krew Hudson John
today you are 9 months old. you have changed my life in ways you can't imagine and i am grateful for you every moment of everyday. i love to watch you grow and interact with the family and friends around you. there's not a person who you don't make smile. you laugh and crawl and play and eat food all by yourself. i thought i'd cry when we got to this stage, but i'm surprisingly all smiles. you are our world baby son and you are so smart and energetic already. 3 months from now you'll be one years old and i'll be bawling my eyes out.. so stay young my babeh!

In case you forgot I love you

lately, we've been able to spend a little time catching up to our crazy non stop life. things have settled down more and we've gotten a tad bit closer again. crazy thing about having kids, you hardly have time to nurture your own relationship right? hmmm. but, after a 10 day vaca dad had in california the beauty of the saying "distance makes the heart grow fonder" became pretty personal to our little fam. today we've started the day off right with a little sleeping in and a litle yard work and we plan to finish this monday off right with a little family outing. have a wonderful week! we sure plan too!
images taken last night after the babe went down, little reminders of what we love.

I see gold

I don't think there's a somewhat dressed up day in public that I can go without my watch and gold hoops. They may be cheap, but no one knows that.. And they have this certain way of complementing me on a daily basis when I look in the mirror, so thank you gold accessories , I do love you so. I shall continue to use you regularly, no offense.

pinspiration

okay, so i might be a tiddly little bit obsessive and over critical of my living space and okay, everything in my life. so no doubt, i am an absolute pinterest addict. and not for the silly quotes, the dumb pictures of hot girls i will never look like or the big diamond rings i will never have.. ( okay maybe someday), but for the art, the ideas, the inspiration, and the creativity. my style does 36o's from day to day and my little slice of pinterest at the end of it sure doesn't help to spin me around and point me in another direction. I LOVE TO REDECORATE and get new ideas. i cant' even make up my mind it's almost painful.

so with that being said, here's my latest addiction... WHITE.

It's so odd to me that such a "plain and boring" color would have such an appeal to me, but it does. it provides easy transition from style to style and is clean and crisp. the objects and decorations in the home bring the color into the home and give it character.
my newly empty basement "apartment" is in for it!

A trip to Potholes

My guide to tagging along with an 8 month old that doesn't sleep In 100 degree weather and insists on trying to eat campfire ashes and bark from trees. It was an adventure to say the least, but I can for sure check that off on the list of memorable events. Thank you Sara and Justin for being such good friends. I owe you!

i spent an entire afternoon trying to find a swimsuit that was a little less revealing, covered my stretch marks, and made me feel comfortable. nearly impossible but i managed to find something!

prepare before you push

the hospital packing list according to myself.

mama
1) Camera, need i say more.
2) All the "softs" this includes, pillows, socks, blankies, and other cuddly comfort needs (night gowns)
3) extra large panties. you'd be surprised how many packs of ice they fit down there
4) nursing TANK, notice not bra. preferably one tight, one loose
5) nursing boppy, get your baby used to that thing from day one
6) headbands, hair bands, combs and concealer, and toothbrush
that is all. no need for a full makeover during delivery
7) lotion, back rubbers, anything that pertains to your preferred method of child birth.
personally, i found those things distracting and obnoxious unless i was going all natural, no thanks.
8) snacks for the mama. i might have ate a loaf of chocolate banana bread... seconds after delivering..
9) chargers, laptops, and desired electronics
10) any personal touches to make your hospital stay more homely..
(candles, pictures, music stuffed animals)

hospitals provide many things, do not panic.

papa
1) YOURSELF.
2) your patience, brain, and flexibility.. or you'll die.
3) some pajamas
4) a pillow from home
5) all electronics for ideal memory making
6) ca$h
7) don't you dare forget that carseat..

the babe
1) soft swaddlers, my favorite are aden and anais found at your fave Target
2) 2 outfits, one with "character" or "color", one neutral. all babes look amazing in white
i'm a very simple person.. i don't do baby gah gah outfits.
3) unscented natural wipes, some hospitals don't carry wipes.

AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT PERTAINS TO YOU!

A Happy 4th to You

We spent Americas birthday laying out in the sun and exploring slides and the awesome things they do to your baby's fine red hair. Prettttty awesome afternoon by the pool and the park if you ask me. This little guy makes every aspect of life so much more worth while, it's like reliving my childhood. He gives me reason to enjoy everyday and the simplest things like walking around town at night with his daddy watching fireworks (if only for 10 minutes because it's way past a babies bedtime) he is my joy. :)

Baby daddy is off to Disneyland this week! We're already really missin that guy, but that means souvenirs and more time for mama and baby to do the girly stuff, muhahaha.
Hope you all had a good 4th and enjoy the FINALLY good weather around here!

What I've learned..

About motherhood the past 8 months.

Life goes on
Your child can make any day worth living
Poop is nothing but a sign your babe is properly fed
Sleep is not necessary to survive.. Only to function. And sometimes moms don't
Mistakes are okay
It goes by too fast
You never needed all the extra crap you thought you must have
Be open to change of ideas, cause they will change
You're the best mommy your child could have, take advice thats positive to you.
Patience is a life saver. LiterAlly.
It comes natural, don't sweat the small stuff
You'll probably want another one
You might even scare yourself with your mama bear instincts Sometimes
You'll obsess over pinterest at 2 am.. Even when they're not a newborn.
You'll cry, a lot.
You'll smile even more.
Puke and other bodily fluids will become your own style of tie dye.
It Also won't phase you.
You'll learn what love really is.
Whites never a good idea, but you'll probably do it anyways.
You'll develop an extreme case of mamarazzi with the camera.. Most people won't be As entertained.
You'll so some weird stuff, I definetly nursed my 3 week old on the toilet of les Schwab once.
Family means most
Hoop earrings are a no no
And cuddle time is the absolute best.

Krew Hudson John, I love nothing more than being your mama. Here's to almost 9 months of truly living for something, you're everything to me.
